The finish...
The third and last part of the Poison Spider to Golden Spike to Gold Bar Rim Loop. After a long and
challenging ride starting at Poison Spider, this leg of the journey is welcomed with fast sandy
sections and a relaxing vertical two-track climb to the rim before coming back down to the
highway. If you plan on making this ride a loop, it's best to be plated or have someone meet you
at the parking area.
More action...
Ah...more action after connecting from Poison Spider. This section is covered in challenging
step-ups and step-downs. If you're not sporting a skid plate, use caution!
Keep a very close eye on the Golden Spikes, they're difficult to see in the heat of the mid-day
sun and it's easy to lose your way!
A great ride...
...prior to or long after the Jeep Safari. After a thousand and one Jeeps have been on Poison
Spider, the trail is really torn up in some of the most difficult vertical sections. I highly
recommend hitting this trail in early spring before the Jeep masses hit it.
The views from the arch are breath taking so plan on taking your time and your camera. If you're
riding a dual-sport, I highly recommend riding from town and connecting Poison Spider with Golden Spike and Gold Bar. It makes for a challenging 30-miler. When you're done and tired, hit the
highway for about 4-miles back in to town.
